  • After registration, your exams will be accessible only on Thursdays. You can log into your exam starting at 8:00 a.m. up until 12:00 p.m. You will have 2 hours to complete the national exam and 2 hours to complete the provincial exam.
  • Students can choose to complete both exams on the same day or complete them on separate days.
  • Exams will be available for 30 days after your initial registration (only on Thursdays) until you have completed the exam. If you miss your exam, your registration will be transferred to the Thursday of the following week. After 30 days, your registration will expire. If you can’t complete your exam within 30 days of your initial registration, contact ncso@bccsa.ca.
  • Ensure that you are adequately prepared to write the exams. Please see our Exam Study Resources for support. We highly encourage NCSO® / NHSA™ candidates to attend an upcoming Exam Prep Session before attempting the exams.

Exam Policy:

If a candidate completes an exam unsuccessfully, they will be required to wait 90 days before reattempting the exam. A second unsuccessful attempt will result in a 12-month waiting period. After 3 consecutive unsuccessful attempts, the candidate will have to repeat all NCSO®/NHSA™ compulsory and elective courses and restart their application before being eligible to write the exam again. Each additional attempt costs $60 + GST for the National Exam and $40 + GST for the Provincial Exam. Any unsuccessful attempts in other provinces will not affect your status with the BCCSA.
